Top Gear: At the Movies

2011 · 75 MIN · IMDB 7.3 · 1,231 VOTES · DIR. Phil Churchward

Overview

Cars! Film! Cars on film! Film involving cars! You get the idea. It’s basically a DVD involving those two things. Gasp as we find the perfect drift car for a gritty, Bourne Identity-style chase! Cheer as we stage a race for all those unsung heroes of the movie industry! Whoop as we find the car that makes the perfect dramatic exhaust note to dub onto an action sequence! Make some other sort of noise we haven’t thought of yet as we re-attempt the classic Man With The Golden Gun barrel roll, having frankly made a total hash of it when we first tried it on telly! All this plus a vast fleet of sexy supercars and a man with a jet pack racing a Skoda. Top Gear At The Movies. It’s better than an actual movie. Probably. Actually, it depends on which movie we’re talking about. Truth is, you’d be better judging this on a case-by-case basis. Why not write to us with the name of a film and we’ll tell you whether this DVD is better or not. Actually, on second thoughts, don’t.

00:00:20 Hello and welcome.
00:02:45 but I'm watching it now on DVD.
00:05:39 and all sorts of technical Rocketman stuff has to happen.
00:08:51 Within seconds, Yves had caught up.
00:11:34 And that is quite simply, noise.
00:14:15 Yes, it's another 6-litre V1 2.
00:16:58 HAMMOND: Oh, God!
00:19:37 Basically side windows bought from a scrap yard
00:22:14 But on the plus side, the steel plate had held up nicely.
00:24:45 bringing welcome food poisoning to weary cameramen.
00:27:26 stars in their own rights.
00:30:08 (CRASHING)
00:32:58 -What? Invisibility? -Yeah, make it disappear.
00:35:10 and I was hideously drunk
00:37:49 With that little hint of super charger, that makes it honest.
00:41:12 actually quite nonsensical.
00:44:32 AndTop Gear stuntman was briefed, by me, about the exact approach speed.
00:49:07 just listening to make sure all 200 changes have happened.
00:52:54 MAY: We now return to our secret spy car testing centre.
00:55:53 (TYRES SCREECHING)
00:59:27 (SCREAMING)
01:03:22 If you need to run the gauntlet of baddies
01:07:03 And that is that it's absolutely built for purpose.
01:10:53 All right, go on then.
